Dr. Wonchalerm Chalodhorn, Chair of Working Committee TCMA on Sustainability, Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) led a TCMA team in technical discussions on Limestone Calcined Clay Cement (LC3) with international partners UNIDO-led by Ms. Rasha Abdrabu,
GIZ-led by Ms. Insa Illgen, and GCCA-led by Mt. Thomas Guilliot. The discussions strengthened global collaboration and focused on LC3 technical considerations, its applicability to the Thai context, and potential support from the Mitigation Action Facility (MAF) to accelerate implementation of Thailand 2050 Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap, in alignment with Thailand’s climate commitments and global pathways, while enabling scalable greenhouse gas reductions and maintaining industry competitiveness.

Khun Surachai Vangrattabachai, Chair of Working Committee TCMA on Innovation and Technology, Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) led a TCMA team in technical discussions on carbon capture and utilization (CCU) with international partners UNIDO-led by Ms. Rasha Abdrabu, and GIZ-led by Ms. Insa Illgen. The discussions strengthened global collaboration and focused on CCU technical considerations, its applicability to the Thai context, and potential support from the Mitigation Action Facility (MAF) to accelerate implementation of the Thailand 2050 Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap, in alignment with Thailand’s climate commitments and global pathways, while enabling scalable greenhouse gas reductions and maintaining industry competitiveness.

First Meeting in 2026 of Working Committee TCMA on Sustainability

Members of Working Committee TCMA on Sustainability, Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) attended 1/2026 meeting, chaired by Dr. Wonchalerm Chalodhorn. The meeting reviewed work progress and related matters in response to the policy on ‘research and development of new low carbon cement, particularly calcined clay cement’, in alignment with Thailand 2050 Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap and in support of NDC 3.0 and the national Net Zero target.

Workshop Enhancing Circularity and Co-processing for Decarbonizing the Cement and Concrete Value Chain in Thailand

Khun Phattharawan Sukkantharak, Executive Director of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), led TCMA representatives from various working groups in sharing industry perspectives on the draft report “Enhancing Circularity and Co-processing for Decarbonizing the Cement and Concrete Value Chain in Thailand” under the project ‘Decarbonization of the Cement and Concrete Sectors in Thailand’, organized by UNIDO in collaboration with the Center of Excellence on Hazardous Substance Management, Chulalongkorn University, aimed to advance circular economy practices while supporting sustainable waste management through co-processing in cement kilns and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in line with Thailand’s Net Zero goals.
