TCMA Input to LT-LEDS Review on IPPU Sector

Khun Monwikan Kajohnboon, Secretary of Working Committee TCMA-Environment and Climate Action led the members contributed cement industry perspectives during focus group meeting on the revision of Thailand’s Long-Term Low Greenhouse Gas Emission Development Strategy (LT-LEDS) for Industrial Processes and Product Use (IPPU) sector, organized by Department of Climate Change and Environment, in collaboration with the Thammasat University Research and Consultancy Institute. TCMA’s engagement supports evidence-based policy development and reflects the cement industry’s commitment to aligning sectoral decarbonization pathways with national climate policy, contributing to Thailand’s transition toward Net Zero 2050.

TCMA and Chulalongkorn University Explore Partnership on Carbon Capture Technology

Khun Rapee Sukhyanga, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) led a TCMA delegation in a collaborative meeting with Professor Pranut Potiyaraj, Ph.D., Dean of Faculty of Science at Chulalongkorn University and the team. Members of TCMA Working Committee-Environment and Climate Action, Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) joined a discussion on the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and its impact on Thailand’s exports. The session, organized by the Climate Change Institute of the Federation of Thai Industries, aimed to strengthen the industry’s understanding of CBAM requirements, supporting improved compliance, competitiveness, and progress toward low carbon production.

Workshop on Limestone Calcined Clay Cement: Adoption and Best Practices

Dr. Chana Poomee, Honourary Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) and President of ASEAN Federation of Cement Manufacturers (AFCM) delivered the welcoming remarks at the Workshop on Limestone Calcined Clay Cement: Adoption and Best Practices. The event shared global best practices and tailored LC3 strategies, highlighting LC3’s potential to reduce cement sector emissions in Thailand and across Southeast Asia. The workshop was attended by participants from Thailand, the Philippines, and Vietnam. It was jointly organized by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in collaboration with Low Carbon Construction Association (LCCA), Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA), and TCMA under a project to decarbonize Thailand’s cement and concrete sectors, with fund support from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).

Strategic Dialogue on MAF Support for Thailand’s Net Zero Cement Transition

The joint meeting among Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) team-led by Khun Phattharawan Sukkantharak, Executive Director, UNIDO-led by Ms. Rasha Abdrabu, Project Manager and Industrial Development Expert and GIZ-led by Ms. Insa Illgen, Programme Director of Thai–German Cooperation on Energy, Mobility and Climate (TGC EMC), continued discussions to explore Mitigation Action Facility (MAF) support for the cement industry toward Net Zero 2050. The discussion focused on accelerating the implementation of the Thailand 2050 Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap, in alignment with Thailand’s climate commitments and global pathways, while enabling scalable greenhouse gas reductions and maintaining industry competitiveness.
