Members of Working Committee TCMA on Carbon Policy and Net Zero Governance, Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) convened for their second meeting of 2026, chaired by Khun Monwikan Kajohnboon. The meeting acknowledged the revision of the committee’s name and scope of work, and provided updates on key environmental legislation and other priority topics related to carbon policy, net zero transition, and industry alignment.

TCMA Joins Key Stakeholders to Drive Practical Use of Thailand Taxonomy

Khun Monwikan Kajohnboon, Chair of Working Committee TCMA on Carbon Policy and Net Zero Governance of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), together with the team, participated in a multi-stakeholder consultation to provide inputs on the draft DNSH/MSS compliance checklist under Thailand Taxonomy. The engagement aims to support the financial sector in effectively applying the taxonomy in practice, particularly in assessing Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) and Minimum Social Safeguards (MSS). Convened in collaboration with Department of Climate Change and Environment, Bank of Thailand, Securities and Exchange Commission, and Stock Exchange of Thailand, the discussion reflects strong public–private coordination to operationalize sustainable finance frameworks and accelerate Thailand’s transition toward a low-carbon economy.

Mobile Carbon Capture Handover Marks New Milestone for Thailand’s Cement Decarbonization

Dr. Chana Poomee, Honourary Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), and Ms. Richelle Bourgoin, Deputy Minister of Trade and Export Development of Saskatchewan, Canada, jointly marked the handover and first deployment of a Mobile Carbon Capture Unit (MCCU) at a cement plant in Saraburi Province. Joined by representatives from UNIDO, the Embassy of Canada, the Deputy Governor of Saraburi Province, the Department of Climate Change and Environment, the Department of Industrial Works, and TCMA member companies, the event underscored strong Thailand–Canada collaboration under the “Decarbonization of the Cement and Concrete Sectors in Thailand” project. The MCCU will be used to evaluate the technology ahead of industrial-scale deployment, accelerating the transition to Net Zero and strengthening long-term competitiveness.

TCMA - Saskatchewan Dialogue on Climate Collaboration

Dr. Chana Poomee and the TCMA Board welcomed Saskatchewan’s Deputy Minister Richelle Bourgoin and delegation for a high-level dialogue reaffirming Thailand–Saskatchewan collaboration on net-zero goals. The discussion highlighted complementary strengths -Saskatchewan in low-carbon deep technologies and TCMA in cement decarbonization- while showcasing the Thai cement industry’s progress, including ongoing R&D initiatives and a 3D-printed construction demonstration. Both sides expressed strong interest in expanding cooperation through research, knowledge exchange, and funding, and committed to accelerating carbon reduction technologies and enabling policy frameworks toward a low-carbon future.
