TCMA Joins Key Stakeholders to Drive Practical Use of Thailand Taxonomy
Khun Monwikan Kajohnboon, Chair of Working Committee TCMA on Carbon Policy and Net Zero Governance of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), together with the team, participated in a multi-stakeholder consultation to provide inputs on the draft DNSH/MSS compliance checklist under Thailand Taxonomy. The engagement aims to support the financial sector in effectively applying the taxonomy in practice, particularly in assessing Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) and Minimum Social Safeguards (MSS). Mobile Carbon Capture Handover Marks New Milestone for Thailand’s Cement Decarbonization
Dr. Chana Poomee, Honourary Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), and Ms. Richelle Bourgoin, Deputy Minister of Trade and Export Development of Saskatchewan, Canada, jointly marked the handover and first deployment of a Mobile Carbon Capture Unit (MCCU) at a cement plant in Saraburi Province. Joined by representatives from UNIDO, the Embassy of Canada, the Deputy Governor of Saraburi Province, the Department of Climate Change and Environment, the Department of Industrial Works, and TCMA member companies, the event underscored strong Thailand–Canada collaboration under the “Decarbonization of the Cement and Concrete Sectors in Thailand” project. The MCCU will be used to evaluate the technology ahead of industrial-scale deployment, accelerating the transition to Net Zero and strengthening long-term competitiveness.

TCMA Engages in ETS Readiness Discussions for Thailand
Khun Chanadda Phongsai, member of the Working Committee on Innovation and Technology, Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), participated in a focus group discussion on technology transition and readiness for Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV), a key enabler for Thailand’s future Emission Trading Scheme (ETS). Industry Push for Revision of Thailand-Specific RDF Emission Factor
Khun Arnon Janyam, member of Working Committee TCMA on Sustainability, together with Khun Phattharawan Sukkantharak, Executive Director of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) and the team participated in a consultation with GIZ, the National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC) and partners to discuss the revision of Thailand’s country-specific emission factor (EF) for Refuse-Derived Fuel (RDF), a key enabler for industrial decarbonization. Strengthening the robustness of this emission factor will support Thailand’s Net Zero pathway by enhancing the role of RDF as a viable fuel-switching option in the cement industry. It will also enable more effective policy design and accelerate the scaling of alternative fuels across the sector.
