International Collaboration Strengthens Thailand’s Net Zero Cement Roadmap
Dr. Chana Poomee, Honourary Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) participated in meeting 1/ 2026 of Project Task Team on Decarbonization of Cement and Concrete Sectors in Thailand, co-chaired by Khun Araya Salaipetch, Deputy Director General of Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry and Khun Pavich Kesavavong, Deputy Director General of Department of Climate Change and Environment (DCCE), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and. The meeting reviewed the overall project framework, assessed implementation progress, and discussed preparations for the upcoming project milestone event. Marks Milestone in Collaborative Cement and Concrete Decarbonization
Khun Surachai Nimla-or, Chairman, and Dr. Chana Poomee, Honourary Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) together with TCMA Board, participated in the National Milestone event celebrating the completion of the decarbonization project for Thailand’s cement and concrete sectors. TCMA–DMR Strategic Collaboration for Sustainable Mineral Resource Management and Low Carbon Cement Innovation
Khun Surachai Nimla-or, Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) led TCMA Board paid a courtesy visit to Khun Yongyut Nakawiroj, Director General of Department of Mineral Resources (DMR), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to express appreciation for DMR’s long-standing support to TCMA, particularly in ensuring adequate raw materials for the industry while balancing environmental protection and community considerations in line with the Mineral Resources Management Master Plan and the Minerals Act B.E. 2560 (2017). During the meeting, TCMA shared updates on the cement industry’s decarbonization progress and future direction, including the development of raw material sources for calcined clay cement (LC3) through the designation of suitable mineral zones, preparations for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) initiatives under the SARABURI SANDBOX, and capacity building for government agencies to enhance understanding of emerging low carbon cement technologies. TCMA Joins Forum to Strengthen SMEs in Thailand’s Smart Industry Transition
