New Year Season’s Greeting

Khun Phattharawan Sukkantharak, Executive Director, on behalf of the Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) extended New Year greetings to Associate Professor Jintawat Chaichanawong, Ph.D., of the Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology (TNI), and Associate Professor
Dr. Sunida Aroonpipat of Thammasat University (TU), and expressed appreciation for the academic collaboration in successfully developing the Training Program on Decarbonization Technologies for the Cement and Concrete Industries with support from UNIDO and funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).

Seminar on Emission Analysis to Capture Plant Technology Selection

Members of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) participated in the seminar “Pathways for Cement Plant Decarbonization: From Emission Analysis to Capture Plant Technology Selection,” organized by Clean Energy Technologies Research Institute (CETRI), University of Regina, with support from UNIDO and funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). The seminar provided a comprehensive overview of cement industry decarbonization and examined key carbon capture technologies and their applications in cement plants.

Capacity Building for Cement and Concrete Decarbonization in Thailand

Khun Rapee Sukhyanga, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) presided over the closing ceremony and congratulated 48 participants on completing the training program “Decarbonization Technology for Cement and Concrete Industries”, jointly organized by Thai-Nichi Institute of Technology (TNI) and Thammasat University (TU), with support from UNIDO and funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). The training reaffirmed the importance of human capital development in driving the transition toward Net Zero.

Strategic Dialogue on MAF Support for Thailand’s Net Zero Cement Transition

The joint meeting among Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) team-led by Khun Phattharawan Sukkantharak, Executive Director, UNIDO-led by Ms. Rasha Abdrabu, Project Manager and Industrial Development Expert, GIZ-led by Ms. Insa Illgen, Programme Director of Thai–German Cooperation on Energy, Mobility and Climate (TGC EMC), and Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA)-led by Chief Executive Thomas Guillot, continued discussions to explore Mitigation Action Facility (MAF) support for the cement industry toward Net Zero 2050. The discussion focused on accelerating the implementation of the Thailand 2050 Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap, in alignment with Thailand’s climate commitments and global pathways, while enabling scalable greenhouse gas reductions and maintaining industry competitiveness.

Kick-off Thailand’s Long-Term Low Greenhouse Gas Emission Development Strategy

Khun Monwikan Kajohnboon, Secretary of Working Committee TCMA-Environment and Climate Action, Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) together with its members participated in the kick-off meeting for the revision of Thailand’s Long-Term Low Greenhouse Gas Emission Development Strategy (LT-LEDS), organized by Department of Climate Change and Environment in collaboration with Thammasat University Research and Consultancy Institute (TU-RAC). This participation reflects the cement industry’s commitment to supporting and driving Thailand’s long-term greenhouse gas reduction efforts.
