Innovation Acceleration Program for Decarbonization of Cement and Concrete Industries

  Representatives of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) attended a meeting to receive the final report of the “Innovation Acceleration Program for Decarbonization of the Cement and Concrete Industries”, presented by National Innovation Agency (NIA) with support from UNIDO and funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). The report outlined a decarbonization technology platform showcasing suitable innovative solutions for the cement and concrete sectors, identified priority opportunities for emissions reduction, and provided capacity building recommendations to support the effective implementation of decarbonization strategies.

Strategic Dialogue on MAF Support for Thailand’s Net Zero Cement Transition

The joint meeting among Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) team-led by Khun Phattharawan Sukkantharak, Executive Director, UNIDO-led by Ms. Rasha Abdrabu, Project Manager and Industrial Development Expert and GIZ-led by Ms. Insa Illgen, Programme Director of Thai–German Cooperation on Energy, Mobility and Climate (TGC EMC), continued discussions to explore Mitigation Action Facility (MAF) support for the cement industry toward Net Zero 2050. The discussion focused on accelerating the implementation of the Thailand 2050 Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap, in alignment with Thailand’s climate commitments and global pathways, while enabling scalable greenhouse gas reductions and maintaining industry competitiveness.
