Advancing Mandatory GPP through Cement Industry Engagement

  Khun Phattharawan Sukkantharak, Executive Director of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) together with TCMA members provided cement industry perspectives on the draft guidance for mandatory Green Public Procurement (GPP) during a consultation organized by Thailand Environment Institute (TEI), with support from UNIDO and funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). The consultation also featured an initial review of Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) presented by the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD). The outcomes will help identify practical actions to accelerate EPD adoption, enhance national competitiveness, and align the cement industry with Thailand’s low-carbon and decarbonization policy direction.

TCMA and Chulalongkorn University Explore Partnership on Carbon Capture Technology

Strategic Dialogue on MAF Support for Thailand’s Net Zero Cement Transition

The joint meeting among Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) team-led by Khun Phattharawan Sukkantharak, Executive Director, UNIDO-led by Ms. Rasha Abdrabu, Project Manager and Industrial Development Expert and GIZ-led by Ms. Insa Illgen, Programme Director of Thai–German Cooperation on Energy, Mobility and Climate (TGC EMC), continued discussions to explore Mitigation Action Facility (MAF) support for the cement industry toward Net Zero 2050. The discussion focused on accelerating the implementation of the Thailand 2050 Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap, in alignment with Thailand’s climate commitments and global pathways, while enabling scalable greenhouse gas reductions and maintaining industry competitiveness.
