TCMA x GIZ at TCMA Technical Conference 2026

Khun Nopadol Ramyarupa, Vice Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) delivered the welcoming remarks on ‘Cement Decarbonization Transition in Thailand – Collaboration with Partners’ at TCMA x GIZ at TCMA Technical Conference 2026, while Ms. Ebba Scholl, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bangkok, delivered the opening remarks. Held under the theme “#MadeInGermany: Cement Decarbonization in Practice – Insights for Thailand,” the conference highlighted three key pillars of Thailand’s cement decarbonization pathway -LC3, CCUS, and Industrial AI- and reflected the strong collaboration between TCMA and the Thai-German Cooperation on Energy, Mobility and Climate (TGC EMC), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The conference provided a valuable platform for technical exchange, showcasing German innovations and practical solutions relevant to advancing Thailand’s low-carbon cement transition, and contributed to the implementation of the Thailand 2050 Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap, while fostering constructive dialogue aligned with Thailand’s climate ambitions.

TCMA Joins Key Stakeholders to Drive Practical Use of Thailand Taxonomy

Khun Monwikan Kajohnboon, Chair of Working Committee TCMA on Carbon Policy and Net Zero Governance of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), together with the team, participated in a multi-stakeholder consultation to provide inputs on the draft DNSH/MSS compliance checklist under Thailand Taxonomy. The engagement aims to support the financial sector in effectively applying the taxonomy in practice, particularly in assessing Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) and Minimum Social Safeguards (MSS). Convened in collaboration with Department of Climate Change and Environment, Bank of Thailand, Securities and Exchange Commission, and Stock Exchange of Thailand, the discussion reflects strong public–private coordination to operationalize sustainable finance frameworks and accelerate Thailand’s transition toward a low-carbon economy.

Mobile Carbon Capture Handover Marks New Milestone for Thailand’s Cement Decarbonization

Dr. Chana Poomee, Honourary Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), and Ms. Richelle Bourgoin, Deputy Minister of Trade and Export Development of Saskatchewan, Canada, jointly marked the handover and first deployment of a Mobile Carbon Capture Unit (MCCU) at a cement plant in Saraburi Province. Joined by representatives from UNIDO, the Embassy of Canada, the Deputy Governor of Saraburi Province, the Department of Climate Change and Environment, the Department of Industrial Works, and TCMA member companies, the event underscored strong Thailand–Canada collaboration under the “Decarbonization of the Cement and Concrete Sectors in Thailand” project. The MCCU will be used to evaluate the technology ahead of industrial-scale deployment, accelerating the transition to Net Zero and strengthening long-term competitiveness.
