TCMA at 20th Anniversary

Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) marked its 20th Anniversary under the theme “The NEXT Chapter to Net Zero 2050”, reaffirming its leadership role in driving Thailand’s cement industry toward a low-carbon future. The event was presided over by H.E. Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Industry and brought together senior representatives from government agencies, industry, professional institutions, and international organizations, reflecting a shared commitment to achieving Thailand’s Net Zero 2050 target.
The event underscored TCMA’s pivotal role in advancing industry-wide decarbonization through strong collaboration with partners across sectors, and reflected broad recognition of its continued efforts in accelerating low-carbon cement adoption and supporting national climate goals. It also highlighted the industry’s transition beyond its traditional role toward becoming a Climate Solution Partner, contributing to emissions reduction and sustainable construction solutions in line with the Thailand 2050 Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap.

TCMA Joins Key Stakeholders to Drive Practical Use of Thailand Taxonomy

Khun Monwikan Kajohnboon, Chair of Working Committee TCMA on Carbon Policy and Net Zero Governance of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), together with the team, participated in a multi-stakeholder consultation to provide inputs on the draft DNSH/MSS compliance checklist under Thailand Taxonomy. The engagement aims to support the financial sector in effectively applying the taxonomy in practice, particularly in assessing Do No Significant Harm (DNSH) and Minimum Social Safeguards (MSS). Convened in collaboration with Department of Climate Change and Environment, Bank of Thailand, Securities and Exchange Commission, and Stock Exchange of Thailand, the discussion reflects strong public–private coordination to operationalize sustainable finance frameworks and accelerate Thailand’s transition toward a low-carbon economy.

Mobile Carbon Capture Handover Marks New Milestone for Thailand’s Cement Decarbonization

Dr. Chana Poomee, Honourary Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), and Ms. Richelle Bourgoin, Deputy Minister of Trade and Export Development of Saskatchewan, Canada, jointly marked the handover and first deployment of a Mobile Carbon Capture Unit (MCCU) at a cement plant in Saraburi Province. Joined by representatives from UNIDO, the Embassy of Canada, the Deputy Governor of Saraburi Province, the Department of Climate Change and Environment, the Department of Industrial Works, and TCMA member companies, the event underscored strong Thailand–Canada collaboration under the “Decarbonization of the Cement and Concrete Sectors in Thailand” project. The MCCU will be used to evaluate the technology ahead of industrial-scale deployment, accelerating the transition to Net Zero and strengthening long-term competitiveness.
