TCMA at Regional Cooperation: AFCM 45th Council Meeting and 22nd Conference

December 5-7, 2024: Dr. Chana Poomee, Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) led TCMA team further strengthen the cooperation with cement manufacturers in ASEAN during AFCM 45th Council Meeting and 22nd Conference, hosted by Vietnam National Cement Association in Ha Long, Vietnam with theme ‘ASEAN Cement Collaboration towards Green Industry’. The delegates from eight AFCM member countries are participating the meeting; namely Heidelberg Materials Butra Sdn Bhd, Cambodia Cement Manufacturers Association (CCMA), Indonesia Cement Association (ICA), The Cement & Concrete Association of Malaysia (C&CA), Cement Manufacturers’ Association of the Philippines, Inc. (CeMAP), Cement & Concrete Association of Singapore (CNCAS), Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), and Vietnam National Cement Association (VNCA).

Launching Project Decarbonization of Cement and Concrete Sectors in Thailand

Dr. Chana Poomee, Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) and TCMA Board members joined the launching project ‘Decarbonization of Cement and Concrete Sectors in Thailand’, presided over by H.E. Ping Kitnikone, the Ambassador of Canada to Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. The project is the collaboration among Thailand, Canada, UNIDO and TCMA with aims at accelerating decarbonization the cement and concrete sectors in Thailand to help the country meet its Nationally Determined Contribution. A combination of technical assistance and investment support, fund valued CAD 8 million by the Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) will be given to Thailand to help developing decarbonization-centric policies, a regulatory framework and a country-driven national and industrial net-zero roadmap.
