Dr. Wonchalerm Chalodhorn, Chair of Working Committee TCMA on Sustainability at Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) led a technical discussion with representatives from Low Carbon Construction Association (LCCA), headed by Ms. Ruvimbo Eustina Munemo, and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), represented by Dr. Uma Wirutskulshai, National Project Coordinator for UNIDO in Thailand. The discussion focused on key parameters of the LC3 calculation methodology developed by LCCA, aiming to refine the methodology and prepare the next steps for advancing the deployment of calcined clay cement in Thailand.

A joint technical discussion was organized involving Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA)-led by Khun Arnon Janyam from Working Committee TCMA on Sustainability and Khun Monwikan Kajohnboon from Working Committee TCMA-Environment and Climate Action, GIZ Thailand-led by Senior Advisor Dr. Pramote Puengjinda, and Office of the National Higher Education Science, Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO)-led by Vice President Assoc. February 4-6, 2026: Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) participated in Asia Environmental and Waste Management Expo 2026 (Asia EnwasteExpo 2026), organized by Environmental Management Industry Club of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI). Under the theme “Turning Waste into Purpose for Net Zero 2050”, TCMA showcased collaboration among Thailand’s cement producers, alignment with government policies, and area-based implementation through the SARABURI SANDBOX. Advancing Mandatory GPP through Cement Industry Engagement

Khun Phattharawan Sukkantharak, Executive Director of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) together with TCMA members provided cement industry perspectives on the draft guidance for mandatory Green Public Procurement (GPP) during a consultation organized by Thailand Environment Institute (TEI), with support from UNIDO and funding from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). SARABURI SANDBOX DAY 2026
