TCMA Joins Forum to Strengthen SMEs in Thailand’s Smart Industry Transition

Khun Surachai Nimla-or, Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) together with TCMA Board members, attended forum “Leverage Thai Industry Growth towards Smart Industry”, organized by Siam Cement Group (SCG) and its partners, with a strong focus on empowering SMEs to enhance competitiveness and participate more actively in industrial supply chains.
In keynote remarks, Dr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance highlighted priorities for driving Thailand’s economic and industrial growth, including infrastructure investment and enabling SMEs to access new opportunities in emerging industries. Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Industry emphasized strengthening domestic supply chains and enhancing SMEs’ capabilities, while Dr. Chana Poomee, Advisor to President of SCG and Vice Chairman of Federation of Thai Industries highlighted the role of innovation, digital technologies, and AI in helping SMEs improve productivity and competitiveness. The forum reinforced the importance of public–private collaboration to support SMEs in transitioning toward a smarter, more resilient industrial future.

International Collaboration Strengthens Thailand’s Net Zero Cement Roadmap

Dr. Chana Poomee, Honourary Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) participated in meeting 1/ 2026 of Project Task Team on Decarbonization of Cement and Concrete Sectors in Thailand, co-chaired by Khun Araya Salaipetch, Deputy Director General of Department of Industrial Works, Ministry of Industry and Khun Pavich Kesavavong, Deputy Director General of Department of Climate Change and Environment (DCCE), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and. The meeting reviewed the overall project framework, assessed implementation progress, and discussed preparations for the upcoming project milestone event. The project is funded by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and managed by United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), aiming to accelerate decarbonization across Thailand’s cement and concrete sectors.

TCMA Highlights LC3 as Key Contribution to LT-LEDS Review for IPPU Sector

Khun Phattharawan Sukkantharak, Executive Director and Khun Monwikan Kajohnboon, Secretary of Working Committee TCMA-Environment and Climate Action led members of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) in contributing cement industry perspectives during the 3rd focus group on revising Thailand’s Long-Term Low Greenhouse Gas Emission Development Strategy (LT-LEDS) for the Industrial Processes and Product Use (IPPU) sector, organized by Department of Climate Change and Environment in collaboration with Thammasat University Research and Consultancy Institute. The discussion placed particular focus on CO₂ reduction opportunities through low carbon cement technologies such as calcined clay cement (LC3), supporting evidence-based policy development and aligning the cement sector’s decarbonization pathway with Thailand’s Net Zero 2050 ambition.

TCMA Voices Industry Input on Low Carbon Cement Ecolabel

Khun Phattharawan Sukkantharak, Executive Director together with Khun Monwikan Kajohnboon, Secretary of Working Committee TCMA-Environment and Climate Action, and members of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), shared industry perspectives at a stakeholder consultation under the project “Cement Emissions Benchmarking and the Development of Recommendations for a National Ecolabel for Low Carbon Cement in Thailand”, aims to gather insights to support the development of environmental performance benchmarks and an ecolabel framework for low carbon cement. This initiative is part of a broader decarbonization effort for Thailand’s cement and concrete sectors, funded by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) and managed by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in collaboration with Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) and Energy Research and Development Institute–Nakornping, Chiang Mai University.
